I wasn't interested in typical machismo activities like sports or fixing cars. I was an outcast who preferred waxing the philosophic and finding thought provoking music with my peers. When I listen to Damn Selene's amazing music, it evokes this same sensibility from years ago. Selene's music is reminiscent of industrial acts like Nine Inch Nails or Prick with the occasional unexpected digital sound effect lifted directly from a chip tune library. Selene is an incredible talent who can compose complex intricate beats that they use to serve their urgent yet hypnotic raps. Their bars are drenched in clever wordplay and rhythmic rhyming to such a degree that the listener has to re-listen to the song to get every little nuance that they are presenting vocally. I managed to see them preform, albeit not in person. It was a stream from MAGFEST, in which I could see exactly how fast and meticulous they were with not just their rhymes but the production of the sound as they played. I was absolutely transfixed at the synchronicity which Selene pulls off so effortlessly. Some of their songs are devastatingly personal, some are a commentary on issues they find fault in, or they're about sleeping with your dad. Regardless of the topic, Selene manages to present these subjects with sincerity and urgency. </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><span> </span>While I have not yet worked with Selene in person, I had the joy of making a music video for them. The song, while presented with a catchy beat and infectious lyrics, depicts an excruciating element of their existence. This element is chronic pain, which they lampooned by calling the song The other chronic, in reference to a hip hop classic. However, by juxtaposing Dr. Dre's album to their own chronic pain, Selene paints a picture to the listener. A picture of an outcast, which is something I can relate to.For those of you who never quite fit in, much like myself I highly recommend Damn Selene's music! You can listen to all of their amazing albums on Bandcamp or all streaming sites! </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><b><a href="https://damnselene.bandcamp.com" target="_blank"><span style="color: white;">https://damnselene.bandcamp.com</span></a></b></div><p><br /></p>FLARThttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14955248177657330642noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3095409395959827092.post-33916883612778444742016-03-31T06:11:00.001-07:002016-03-31T06:11:27.321-07:00Album Review: Those who survived<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

About a year ago, I was sitting in a coffee shop in Ocala with Jeremy. He was telling me that he was on a spiritual journey of sorts dedicated to his late friend. He told me his heart wrenching story about his friend and I listened to every word with familiarity. His story evoked a similar tale of a friend that I lost, we exchanged stories a bit more before Jeremy smiled and sat back. "We survived", Jeremy said. He went on to tell me that was what his new album was going to be about, survival. Anticipation grew to hear this new album, unfortunately the album was met with setback after set back. Jeremy gave me brief, but curious updates about the album. Finally after long last I got an opportunity to listen to the album. Jeremy who's previous albums were more on the acoustic side decided to abandon that style partly for a slightly new wave sound. While it has synth, it's not a full on dance album. It's upbeat, somber, and it feels like a lost album from the 80s while still feeling completely fresh. The album starts off with echoes of past albums from Jeremy and clips of music which I believe may have influenced Jeremy. The first track feels as though Jeremy is bringing the listener into his world, once inside he begins to meditate on the concepts of love, loss, life, and essentially happiness. What starts as individualized concepts that Jeremy reflects upon with somber attention, becomes universal as the tracks progress. Tracks such as "Facebook Pictures" and "Running Infinitely" depict humanity's yearning for more and simply at it's base a struggle with loneliness in modern times. The album concludes with a collage of voices to represent the listeners, to state that the listeners are in fact "Those Who Survived." Life in general is very difficult and takes many casualties, but Jeremy wants you to know that we're all in this together and he understands. If you like good music, don't hesitate to pick up a copy of Those Who Survived!FLARThttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14955248177657330642noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3095409395959827092.post-91426569493535802122016-01-19T05:35:00.003-08:002016-01-19T05:35:44.176-08:00Marc With a C<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

Diy artists have almost become a bit of a genre in of itself recently, one artist who seems to take that genre to the next level is Marc with a C. Marc has been making music independently for quite a while and has become a mainstay of the Orlando music scene, his following isn't merely due to his longevity, it's also attributed to his artistry. Even though his lyrical content may venture into the juvenile at times, it's always accompanied with a stunning display of Marc's musical prowess. Armed simply with an acoustic guitar, he manages to create a wall of sound whenever he preforms. His albums are no less incredible. Marc is vinyl aficionado carefully crafting each album in secrecy, mastered specifically for the medium. When he releases an album it becomes an event, each one topping the last one in style and creativity. With the numerous album that Marc releases, he is still incredibly humble. All of his albums are available for free on his band camp page, but with all of the effort that he puts into his albums, his merch becomes a must own for anyone who knows his music. If you love music and you haven't checked out Marc with a C, you are doing a great disservice e to yourself by not knowing this talented gentleman. I suggest that you check him out, you won't be disappointed. </div>

Today's Flart feature is an artist who is no stranger to the world of theater. Corey Volence is the mastermind behind the wildly successful, Songs in the Key of E. Not only was this show preformed in the Central Florida area within the Fringe festival, he took the show along with the cast to New York to wow audiences there as well. Key of E is a wildly original production about the end of the world, and paranoia. Not only is he an extremely talented playwright, he is also a fantastic actor. He was recently featured in a production of True West. If you loved Key of E, or you didn't get the chance to see it, you can get the soundtrack on iTunes. He's just getting warmed up, his newest production opens soon, titled Realms of the Untold which is bound to be just as original as Key of E. Make sure you keep an eye on Corey's Productions, you won't be disappointed in the least.FLARThttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14955248177657330642noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3095409395959827092.post-82912314930579481092015-08-11T13:08:00.001-07:002015-08-11T13:08:18.380-07:00Brandon Wane<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

I met Brandon several years ago while working at Halloween Horror Nights at Universal Studios. He was an extremely eager and imaginative individual and let me know about his experiences with film making. I told him that I had an idea for a script and before I knew it he was gathering a team together to shoot it. He was one of the few people who actually took my kooky ideas seriously and not only that but he's an extremely hard worker. His body of work is the by product of an hard working film maker who doesn't take no for an answer. He manages to accomplish what he sets his mind on with a smile and a soft voice, without making any one feel badly. Brandon is extremely inclusive and resourceful. He's like a one man army who pushes through a production until it's finished. He might recruit some assistance here or there, however if the production is short staffed, he is not afraid to get his hands dirty. If you haven't seen any thing from Lo Pictures I highly suggest that you check them out. You won't be disappointed! </div>

Bret hasn't completed many books, but that's because he's one of those examples of the phrase that you can't rush greatness. He's a writer with a million vivid ideas brewing in his mind to such a vibrant state that when they finally erupt it's typically beyond anything you've seen before. I was lucky enough to receive a copy of his poetry book the Oxytocin Opera and I was absolutely blown away. He managed to write a book that feels like performance with a cohesive theme running through the entire piece. His table of contents is called a "set list" and the entire book is separated into two Acts. It's as though it's for an imaginary live performance about the tribulations of a relationship and the book turns the reader into the performer of the pieces. This kind of forward thinking and creativity is what sets Bret apart from most authors. If his other future works are anything like this one, then this individual has a longstanding, innovative career ahead of himself. </div>

I never knew anyone as passionate as Chris about the music and the scene, he introduced me to the music of MegaRan which I'm eternally grateful for. Wherever he goes he has a joy for life that can't be replicated, his energy is youthful and infectious. If you're in a room with EyeQ you will be dancing like it or not. His music is brilliant and his rhymes are extremely sharp without resorting to profanities. Since his transformation from photographer to rapper, he's performed sporadically around the country. From South by south west to Florida music Festival. The world patiently awaits for his first full length album to release, if everything he's released so far is any indication, EyeQ's debut will be amazing. This is one artist who's got a long music career ahead of him. <br />

Even though his face or his name may not be familiar, Evan is responsible for reinventing how one thinks about Fringe and local theater in general. A master of graphic design, Evan took an extremely imaginative concept to the stage and it has erupted into a movement. Evan is one of the masterminds behind Dog Powered Robot, a cartoon network calibre presentation featuring large cardboard robots which interact with and entertain an enamored audience. Evan has taken this concept and ran with it, some "robots" have appeared at schools and various concerts. Dog powered robot is the kind imaginative whimsy which is distinctly orlando. While the robots and sets are made out of cardboard, the production quality is extremely high enough to rival anything kids watch these days. There's actually word that DPR is heading to cable television eventually. With acts like this one it's easy to see that imagination is alive and well in Orlando Florida. </div>

I was fortunate enough to have Barbra as a featured artist at N3RD NIGHT, her energetic art fit in with the art extremely well. Her art has a pop style to it that reminds me of Pollock but has much more structure and purpose then his works. Some of the art is geometric but regardless of the structure, all of her pieces have a magnetic energy that just makes you feel so great by simply looking at them. A lot of artists pour themselves into their work, and with Barbara it's no exception. All of her paintings are filled with personality and joy that just radiates off the canvas. </div>

I discovered a very interesting artist through AAL365...B.Renee. Her delicate style has a subtle embrace and truly evokes gentle emotions. Her paintings range from various types of landscapes and emerge onto the canvas like a dream slowly coming into existence. I'm very fond of her color selection and the wispy silhouettes of distant skylines. The warm cozy feeling that her pictures gives me invites me to continue to look at every corner of the painting consuming me and waking up my imagination as I transcend into her dream world. When you get a chance take a look at her wonderful art. </div>FLARThttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14955248177657330642noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3095409395959827092.post-33759875245914123512011-12-14T09:39:00.000-08:002011-12-14T09:39:04.803-08:00Nannette Cherry, Cake,Rebecca Rose<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiw9v-TBmlzT_Z44DOjsK26mWjfw1TU1mck4WjYw00jkeFG4Uqv8YS-zasy_Sp9cRrO93md7MknElzEpwtBe0zhfJbRZ_03PtQwdA2m8zzPNfsL9x51QxMQ1xJkfzknGcJAROvdEbg5Pj9o/s1600/6490_124611123680_711793680_2282220_3266342_n.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiw9v-TBmlzT_Z44DOjsK26mWjfw1TU1mck4WjYw00jkeFG4Uqv8YS-zasy_Sp9cRrO93md7MknElzEpwtBe0zhfJbRZ_03PtQwdA2m8zzPNfsL9x51QxMQ1xJkfzknGcJAROvdEbg5Pj9o/s320/6490_124611123680_711793680_2282220_3266342_n.jpg" width="240" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">You are not tripping, or are you? Nannette's work is distorted reality at it's best. As I was going through her pictures I began to question my own sanity. Her pictures are amazing, she takes normal human faces and distorts and twists them until the human is no longer present. She has a knack for making us humans look alien and bizarre...in all reality is she distorting the human form or simply bringing out the true nature? I adore Nannette's work, as long as there are people in the world then there will be art for Nannette to create. </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />

</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">If you've live in Orlando for at least 3 years it would be nearly impossible for you not to run into Cake. However you might not even realize it. Cake is a rock star in the Orlando art scene, not only does his art have a nice glossy look with a stark contrast of something grotesque, but he also makes quite a presence in person. Even though I have yet to meet this man in person His classy appearance is hard to miss. What I love about Cake's art is that it's always a surprise. I consider it calculated chaos, if you haven't looked at his art yet I highly recommend that you do so. </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />

</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">When I'm painting I'm rough and sometimes I just don't care, if colors bleed or run that's just how I am. So to be honest I really have to hand it to Rebecca Rose for having nerves of steel. She crafts some of the most intricate rings that I've ever seen. How she does it, I'm not entirely sure. Each ring has a personality and immense detail. You don't have to be a jewelry fanatic to appreciate her rings. She has such rings as a full on miniature wedding cake complete with bride and groom, one that was a full on city skyline complete with King Kong, I could go on and on but my descriptions don't do it justice I recommend that you take a look at her rings. You'll be impressed. </div>FLARThttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14955248177657330642noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3095409395959827092.post-49875713054953734502011-11-09T14:21:00.000-08:002011-11-09T14:21:29.053-08:00Karen Russell Bryan Carson Morgan Wilson<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhKoslq7k8B5-14Sven3oUY-jV0RsKcc_5bSLAVuekWAYiYkrosO546XiTNPxrvCflnf-0BAtEYKnAiXG981ep_FZuukc6qoeEn4TeZb6DSk3_eU2N5gg1ex1_-fTFmUmBGog32IR9qb9nx/s1600/308972_10150344298809133_503094132_7770567_2046058647_n.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhKoslq7k8B5-14Sven3oUY-jV0RsKcc_5bSLAVuekWAYiYkrosO546XiTNPxrvCflnf-0BAtEYKnAiXG981ep_FZuukc6qoeEn4TeZb6DSk3_eU2N5gg1ex1_-fTFmUmBGog32IR9qb9nx/s320/308972_10150344298809133_503094132_7770567_2046058647_n.jpg" width="240" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">One of the reasons why I like different kinds of art so much, is because each artist perceives the world differently then the next one. Karen Russell's subject matter is something that has been done a million times, however her take is extremely refreshing. Karen takes the old formula of portraits and mixes it up with a geometric twist. From what I've seen she segments the human body into shapes and for further detail each shape seems to be a different shade. Her work is very interesting to look at and it reminds me of Picasso's cube style, however her work is much more defined and specific and less abstract. I really like Karen's work and I really look forward to seeing more stuff from her in the future. </div><br />

A large majority of his work centers around underwater scenery but a part of swimming that a lot of people over look, the point in which the water reflects off the skin. I love his pieces of the underwater swimmers and the water dancing around them. It's a truly mystical effect and he captures it very well. His work is very colorful and extremely animated, I really enjoy looking at his stuff. </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhbTFivcwMmiHLrjCQGBdfKMoJsr71a08l1IAzfdcxREfNKaPSjPADNwROMgR70nW5WNTspF9lF-qx7DgPAoO3F5aESP_IdTRZILRIVaqw-Xa_ewToM0yqvvmIs4ZNIUKT9av9XI-2rEB7i/s1600/271078_199259133457133_100001191425580_458457_2639769_n.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhbTFivcwMmiHLrjCQGBdfKMoJsr71a08l1IAzfdcxREfNKaPSjPADNwROMgR70nW5WNTspF9lF-qx7DgPAoO3F5aESP_IdTRZILRIVaqw-Xa_ewToM0yqvvmIs4ZNIUKT9av9XI-2rEB7i/s320/271078_199259133457133_100001191425580_458457_2639769_n.jpg" width="320" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />

</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">Morgan Wilson's stuff is very sensual without being overtly gratuitous. Her color pallet is sometimes unexpected and her subject matter is always explosive even in the most subtle ways. Her main objective seems to be to empower the female rather then explicitly flaunt them. Her art is equal parts sensuality and danger with a bit of color thrown in for good measure. To call her a pin up artist would be greatly underestimating her ability. I look forward to seeing more from her. </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />

</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">I really like Johanna O'Donnel's work because it's a true feast for the eyes. The best way that I can describe her work is like technicolor cave paintings on acid. They are a comedic take on how modern culture perceives more primitive societies. Her pictures are a sardonic commentary on how even though we can try to detach our self from technology and entertainment, these things are still part of our existence. These ideas are painted with such images as celebrities with kiss make up instead of war paint, and warriors with animal faces. These are just my interpretations, her work is very vibrant and multi layered and each picture is a visual treat not to mention her entire body of work. </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />

</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">I like Dennis Hansbury's art because it's like a delicate sense of danger. Sure he does a lot of pictures of zombies, but his zombies are unlike most zombies that I've seen before. He displays the vulnerability of the human body. Perhaps this vulnerability to his work comes from his soft pallet or perhaps its the sympathetic eyes. Even in his most grotesque works, the eyes are sympathetic, you could tell that zombie isn't exactly a monster more like a person in a horrible condition. all of his pictures have a beautiful aged look to them and they look like they were hidden treasures that the world has just unearthed. They say that a picture tells a thousand words, however with Dennis his works look like their hiding a world of secrets. </div><br />

I love all of his pieces, he makes cute and cuddly creatures that are twisted and demented. From what I've seen, one of my personal favorites is a picture of a three headed bear who is eating a jar of prescriptions. His work is twisted and creative and is just begging to become animated. I liked what I saw so far and if that was any indication of what his body of art is like then I look forward to seeing much more from him. </div>FLARThttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14955248177657330642noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3095409395959827092.post-43023080295745912092011-10-12T12:44:00.000-07:002011-10-12T12:44:41.171-07:00Patrick Fatica, Scott Scheidly,Brett J Barr<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg_nTZdHceY0NnxlHENmsyjR3ylmb1XB8XDmVxt0kTOSlnFXlXo58vnwNcz0gVnk95AjkDpUURBH5PbvZmB-XFjNwDCx3dKvsTWUzNuRbTSWcyhrC1B_GUc84uFbGtamIS6qvCjYIi78IAI/s1600/69044_164647553560174_117989881559275_475947_5330795_n.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="316" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg_nTZdHceY0NnxlHENmsyjR3ylmb1XB8XDmVxt0kTOSlnFXlXo58vnwNcz0gVnk95AjkDpUURBH5PbvZmB-XFjNwDCx3dKvsTWUzNuRbTSWcyhrC1B_GUc84uFbGtamIS6qvCjYIi78IAI/s320/69044_164647553560174_117989881559275_475947_5330795_n.jpg" width="320" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">First artist that I want to discuss is Patrick Fatica. He's an artist that has some very compelling works. His art is a marriage of darkness and saccharine sweetness. He reminds me of Mark Rydan but he truly has his own personality. All of his pieces look like candy with their glossy complexion and shine. He tends to focus on women but he exaggerates the features that we are typically drawn toward to create an unnerving look. Even in their beauty and delicate appearance, they tend to look menacing and unappreciable. There was a song that I heard once that stated that the female of the creatures is more deadlier then the male and I truly feel as though these pieces define that statement. Patrick's pieces are easy on the eyes its quite easy to get mesmerized in them. </div><br />

All of his pictures are like amazing rock socks that immediately get your attention. All of the pictures are outlandish and in your face, even though most of the environments are similar the world he creates is very surreal. (note the noseless beauties and the giant killer plants) His art is just begging to be an album cover or a crazy music video. His art is screaming to be noticed and fully deserves the attention. </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />

I met Brett through a friend while discussing tattoo art. I was soon introduced to his art and was extremely pleased with his level of detail on his pieces. The above gear has quite some amazing depth to it and it gives the illusion that it's actually real. This is something that Brett has a knack for, duplicating reality in tattoo form. I went through his pictures of tattoos and all of them seem to be consistent in their stunning detail. I'm looking forward to getting a tattoo from him eventually. </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />

Her songs were stories of love lost or unrealized. As soon as she got off the stage the fist thing I told her was that she was extremely endearing as a musician and nothing could be truer, her music is very similar to to that of Fiona Apple or Jewel however she isn't a carbon copy her music has a very specific genuine identity that glows in this modern day filled with cynicism. She has a humble stage presence and performance, she's truly an artist to keep an eye on. </div><br />

When I watched him I couldn't help but to tap my toe and grin from ear to ear. His music reminds me of Miss Kitten or Fischerspooner, but attempting to compare him to these other artists would be a severe disservice to Mr. Castle. His music is fun and danceable and sometimes dark with sarcastic lyrics and Mark's dry delivery. Recently he's come out with some very unique covers that are entertaining and very unexpected. </div><br />

His writing style is like vocal painting creating images on our mind, some that make us laugh and some that make us cringe. His delivery is friendly and very matter of fact which invites us into his world and his colorful imagination. I've seen him preforming his pieces several times before and each time it's like I'm hearing him for the first time. He never comes off as redundant or monotonous. I look forward to hearing more from Mr. Caviness in the further. </div>FLARThttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14955248177657330642noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3095409395959827092.post-62717767911004186372011-09-29T09:18:00.000-07:002011-09-29T09:18:00.169-07:00Linda Eve, Diamond Dolls, Meg Schutz<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgaH2Iqqb2-SWptdt3mrHnRlaEcMsWCDI_zTlA0R0jrd0DwTEKK-TJt-yzeKUwCsOR3H5FpNtafdgyEsUV7kIK9h9JSuSRtqLgZjqMn0v_0sZpwg7J7xxcqhBN7MleQbr8fQUVbx0a3lsqi/s1600/277002_220769364651373_1545316209_n.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgaH2Iqqb2-SWptdt3mrHnRlaEcMsWCDI_zTlA0R0jrd0DwTEKK-TJt-yzeKUwCsOR3H5FpNtafdgyEsUV7kIK9h9JSuSRtqLgZjqMn0v_0sZpwg7J7xxcqhBN7MleQbr8fQUVbx0a3lsqi/s1600/277002_220769364651373_1545316209_n.jpg" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">Before I met Linda Eve and the Nao Collective, I had a different viewpoint of what dance was. The typical stereotype of a choreographed art form that was usually found accompanying musical theater or a some pop star. However these false perceptions quickly vanished upon discovering Nao collective. Yes it was a dance troupe but unlike most it focuses strictly on improvisation. Linda encourages dancers to express them selves with the entire body. Since each dancer is dancing upon instinct the interactions can be chaotic and beautiful just like life itself. She brings out the best in each dancer and challenges them to push themselves further. </div><br />

The dolls were and are on the edge of dance pop, not directly in the heart but on the outskirts of it near the dark side of town. Their music makes a person dance and think so you could say that it is the perfect full body work out. The dolls are fronted by Ricky Diamond who was once associated with more humorous music wanted to strip from that image and evolve, he me Dan Roney and it was musical magic. Together they have quite the stage presence, Ricky with his amazing dances and Dan with his classically trained concentration. I was lucky enough to see them preform for the first time at my Mykebration several years back and I was stunned by their stage presence. While they aren't currently here their music can be found on line, one listen is all it takes to fall in love with the Diamond Dolls!</div><br />

She loves color and typically her pictures are vibrant and playful. Even with my dark subject matter that I wanted for my picture she managed to make it lighthearted. I'm glad that I got to be a subject of one of her photo shoots before she leaves us, Orlando will truly miss Meg Schutz. </div>FLARThttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14955248177657330642noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3095409395959827092.post-27706760322936384472011-09-28T07:37:00.000-07:002011-09-28T07:37:27.276-07:00Destiny Anna, Mike Carr, Jeremy Gloff<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhb4nlcPHceIu_ENMUx_YIktUR_Frm5EtnSlfCmN86W4XPinXOD6-7b52nFCSRW6rBtl-5i_E00-jEiZExTPKmI5xQWqXVC65thS6qQTFqCeNwYmmCm6lgNNywp7HlXWMMMlYIq3JSufQuo/s1600/photo.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhb4nlcPHceIu_ENMUx_YIktUR_Frm5EtnSlfCmN86W4XPinXOD6-7b52nFCSRW6rBtl-5i_E00-jEiZExTPKmI5xQWqXVC65thS6qQTFqCeNwYmmCm6lgNNywp7HlXWMMMlYIq3JSufQuo/s320/photo.JPG" width="239" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">Destiny Anna's art is a nice marriage of surreal and warmth. When I first saw the above picture I thought there was some kind of political agenda however nothing could be further from the truth. She takes images and symbols the we have al known and have been familiar with society and combines them to demystify their stigma. Her art is as gentle and kind as her personality. She's new to the art world and I'm looking forward to her continued contributions.. </div><br />

Mike is a funny guy with a heart of gold. </div><br />

I originally saw him preform at my Mykebration show several years back and he captivated everyone watching. He preformed songs from his 21st Century Love Songs, a very heartfelt album about love and loss. He preformed the songs simply with a keyboard but what came out was a wall of sound that connected the everyone. His newest album went for a different style completely, entitled THIS it is much more of a dance album. With just those two albums it proves exactly how versatile he is but I haven't even mentioned his years of previous albums. Jeremy Gloff is a treasure indeed. </div>FLARThttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14955248177657330642noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3095409395959827092.post-31449630261422598432011-09-27T06:48:00.000-07:002011-09-27T06:53:38.472-07:00Tom Thorspecken,Jason Fronczek, and Frank Beauchamp<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhswcNZQlFHKV1F1PlV5SgCuQbzJnTw8HfD3_ltGiq1EBH6wBumYtl2edlBeZKxCtkg-ko2Iw1Su-GNYT7YKchbiIkBvHzWWeAE38phdace9SUcs37a5NzCFJvAWp7xiu8tJ3SKnS4KlDL0/s1600/296733_2200247160312_1071278120_32611823_977682696_n.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhswcNZQlFHKV1F1PlV5SgCuQbzJnTw8HfD3_ltGiq1EBH6wBumYtl2edlBeZKxCtkg-ko2Iw1Su-GNYT7YKchbiIkBvHzWWeAE38phdace9SUcs37a5NzCFJvAWp7xiu8tJ3SKnS4KlDL0/s320/296733_2200247160312_1071278120_32611823_977682696_n.jpg" width="320" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">Today's post starts with Tom Thorspecken, he's someone that every citizen of Orlando should know. He as much of a staple of Orlando as the theme parks and Lake Eola. Tom is a sketch artist, but the way he sketches with such detail truly draws the artist in. He captures moments in ways that memories or photographs can't. Next time that you're at an Orlando event look around, you might be getting immortalized in one of Tom's pictures and you don't even realize it. </div><br />

His photographs echo that same wisdom, you can tell that these pictures are coming from the eye that has seen a lot of things. Weather in stark black and white or full color his pictures all tell a meaningful story.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />

This man is classically trained at piano and it shows, his techno music has life and a mind of its own. If you're looking for something good and different check out his stuff. </div>FLARThttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14955248177657330642noreply@blogger.com0
